THE PARISIAN CONNECTION

Image
THE PARISIAN CONNECTION .......... in my last post I told you all that I'd be posting photographs made on my yet to be used Canon 5D Mii that has yet to happen. But in the mean time I thought I'd add some of the last shots I made with my stolen Nikon D5500. They just happened to have been made in Paris. Mostly in the gare du Nord area. Hope you like them. I saw this man walking towards me and decided to make a photograph. As I was in the process of so doing he became very defensive. He asked me if I thought he was a tree which I could just randomly make a picture of. He said the laws for making photographs of people are different from London and America. And that I have to ask, etc. However, I'd already made this shot and wasn't asked to delete it. So I decided to include this also.

New Camera

MY NEW CAMERA As mentioned in my last post. I lost my beloved Nikon camera and sigma zoom lens at the airport in Paris. As it contained my memory card with all the images I'd intended to use I was unable to complete my project with it. Fortunately I'd bought a Canon EOS 5D Mii a little while before to use in conjunction with the canon eventually. Due to the loss of the Nikon I now have to begin to get familiar with it.  I've downloaded the manual for the Canon and i'm currently reading through it.         MY NEW (second hand) CANON CAMERA. So I'm still getting used to it. Watch this space for some results.

UNIT 6 - Stop & Return. My Final Selections THESE ARE MY FINAL PICKS FROM THIS ASSIGNMENT.

MY FINAL SELECTIONS                              by Devon Green  I'd originally set out to work on making photographs of black youths who're often viewed in a bad light by society. I wanted to address this predicament and place them in a positive light one which exists but is often unseen. I'd made several images for my project. However, I was struck with  unfortunate circumstances, when my camera with all said files for the project were stolen at the last moment. It was suggested by the tutor that I change my plans and use images which I'd made a couple of weeks before this presentation. These are of images made during a street photography tour of Shoreditch in East London with the photography group and tutor.                 HERE ARE MY PHOTOGRAPHS   This shot said something about intimacy to me. The enduring image of a mother and child. I liked the way in which the mother interacted with her son before the shot was made. Also the logo of Queen on

Unit 7 (LO3) Understanding photographic practice and health and safety procedures. AC 3.1: Identity and use safe working photographic practices in a photographic project. Examples of safe working practices in a photographic environment. It is important that the photographer take necessary precautions so as to make sure that all employees working with and for him are all protected. He'd want to give training and instructions regarding the safe use of particular items of equipment such as photographic equipment, studio lights, darkroom and computer equipment as appropriate and make sure that these are implemented. He'd make sure that his employees report to him of any work situation which is of a serious and immediate danger to health and safety, for example broken equipment, and also warn the photographer of any shortcomings in the arrangement for ensuring the health and safety of employees. Under the health and safety act of 1999 employers need to assess the risk to health and

VIVIAN MAIER  Vivian Maier was a photographer of french-austrian origin. She was born in 1926. Her first encounter with photography began when she got a Kodak brownie camera in the the late 1940's while in france, it was a very simple camera over which she no control of aperture or focus and only had one shutter speed. While in France she began to make photographs of landscapes and people. On returning to America she came across a photo  publication which solidified her interest in  photography. Her chosen genre was street photography. She upgraded to a Rolleiflex camera and started using the the Rolleiflex line in 1952. Over the years she's used the Rolleiflex 3.5f, 2.8c, and flex automat.  She began making photographs in New York. And over the course of over three decades she made photographs of the human landscape. Her pre
