...... LATER IN THE DAY ON WALKING TOUR OF KRAKOW.

I was still fiddling around with my Pentax k20d up until I was about to leave my hotel for a walking tour of Krakow. Walking to the meeting point at Barbican I met an array of different English speaking people waiting for a few more to arrive and for our guide to instruct us. The tour was about two and as half hours long. Expectedly on the tour we got to know the history behind several landmarks in Krakow. The group included an Australian photographer who introduced himself to me. I got to find out about his introduction into photography, equipment, experiences, etc.In turn I told him about my lost Nikon and what i've used in the past and now.  Naturally I shot some pictures. Which I promise I'll let you see soon. I also got Ian the Australian guy to make a short clip with the group and tour guide . The soon came to an end. It didn't seem like two and a half hours to me.After saying our goodbyes. As planned I went for a relaxing couple of hours at a local sauna. Where I som

UNIT 7 2.3 IDENTIFY PRESENTATION FOR A PHOTOGRAPHY PORTRAIT PROJECT. PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT - THE EMPOWERMENT PORTRAIT. A selection of shots that led to my final intimate photography project with "Bubbles".

For this week's project we were asked to empower an individual. By asking how they'd like to be potraid as the subject of a series of photographs. I stopped this man who said he was on his way to work, but was very willing to help. He said that he'd like to be potraid as someone richer that he is. As I had a short window of time. I just started making pictures there and then. I thought that with his bag, his clothing and his demeanor he already looked undersatedly rich and successful ( notice the PRADA jacket ).  This was I think demonstrated in the environment shot.  The head and shoulder shot made him look like a moody super model. And the close up shot depicts a very confident individual. I used my Pentax K20D, with a Tamron 18-250 3.5 macro zoom lens. Because i'm still getting used to this new setup, I used the camera's programed mode.  The gentleman's thought of what a Portrait should be like didn't differ from mine. As I think a person can be depicted

NEW PHOTOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT.

Image
It was my first day back in class since the holidays. We looked at  different types of portrait photography. And were told that this would be the theme of our assignment, for this term. To get us started, we were paired up, and instructed to make photographs of each other in the various pairs. Our brief was to imagine how we'd like to be depicted, i.e. as a different person in an imagery setting...... I went to the park nearby the college with my partner, and we made our photographers there.  As my Canon EOS 5D MIl was still being repaired. I used my Pentax K20D, a Tamron 18 - 250 macro zoom lens. So did my partner, as she didn't think that she'd need it today. Having returned to to he college after making the photographs. I suddenly realised that I'd left my notebook in the park. For which I hurridly returned to retrieve. Thankfully, the dogs who'd been enjoying their walks in the park. Had left it intact. .                 Solitary book and pen in the

SUBMISSION FOR UNIVERSITY

Image
Although I've made photographs on my Pentax K20D. I still haven't downloaded or processed any as yet. My Canon 5D Mii is still at the repair shop. However, I reached a milestone today. After agonising over my university application. I was finally able to submit it today. I'm now waiting to see what happens next ( will keep you informed).            Image of my submission for university. Tomorrow I'll be back at college. Due to unforseen circumstances I missed last week ( the first lesson after the holidays) I understand that we've started a new subject. This being portrait  photography, in its many forms. ............will keep you posted. x

The Story so far....

Regarding the Canon 5D Mii which i've been writing about. Due to the fact that my Nikon kit lens for the lost D5500 got stuck on the thread of an adapter i still haven't been able to use it so far. In fact it's been taken for repair. In the mean time i've been able to pick up a second hand Pentax K20d at a very competitive price. I've also purchased a tamron zoom lens from the same seller. I'm still however getting used to this camera. Having said that I used it on New year's day to make some photographs of the London parade. I've yet to publish any of those. At the time of writing I'm in Krakow Poland for a short break. I've already made some photographs here and will do today. Today is in contrast to yesterday. Looking outside there's some sunshine and it's a bright day, but I know it's cold. I'll be going out this afternoon for a walking tour of the city. Watch this space.........
